Okay guys it?s crunch time for avit, we who are organising avit have been busting our balls for the last month putting together this event for the community as a whole.

On the technical, publicity and organisation fronts it?s all coming together, but securing sponsorship has not been as successful as we?d hoped. There are still lots of irons in the fire but these things take time, which is something we are rapidly running out of
As a result of this, if we are gonna pull this off we are going to have to retract the offer of covering expenses and are gonna have to ask for a donation of ?25 from all the artist attending.
This is to cover things like security and gaffa tape, which need sorting beforehand and cannot be worked around.

Obviously if and when any of the sponsorship proposals come through then the donations will be refunded and we will return to the original model of covering travel expenses.

We are sorry it has come to this, but remember this is a community event, for us to meet, work together and raise our collective profile, not a big corporate show .

If any of the rest of the community would like to donate to help us get this off the ground it will be appreciated, there are over 700 people who use this site daily, run by exhale for no profit, and just a few bucks/quid/yen from each of you might make all the difference.
And you can be sure we?ll do the same when Avit US or Avit Oz rolls around

Thanks from all the Avit organisers

Bank details will be announced tomorrow for cheques/deposits/ bank transfers.

C'mon..dig deep...and if you can't make it to AVIT for whatever reason (scheduling..in jail..etc), this is a way for you to be a real positive part of the event!
I don't see why we couldn't put up a "contributers" page @ the avit website to at least give out props....

And I'm not just saying this because I want my plane ticket covered :)

Yeah ppl this should be a great event and this is a great oppertunity for everyone to contribute (even ppl that can't be there in person), Having this first AVIT go well can only generate positive vibes for possible AVIT events in other countries in the future, hopefully in places where ppl unable to attend this one can attend.

Anyways... BIG UP all the contributors so far and LOOKING forward to seeing more contributions coming in soon :)

absolutley morph, if this one goes well and everyone comes out of the experiance without a bad tase in there mouths, as it were, then the plan is to take A.V.I.T. on a world tour, as you can see people are already talking about a usa adition, there is also talk about outhers in england, over in europe, etc, so lets make this one a good un and then it can only get better in the future,
allso i'd like to put up the idea of doing something at glastonbury, wether this would be under the avit baner or not i dont know, but just an idea at the moment

Yes indeed, and definately under AVIT, its important to maintain a name that people can fix onto and as the USside have done then I think it has stuck already.
Greenpeace put up scaff tower with visuals last year, which is a similar to a tower of BABEL idea, that can be seen from everywhere in the fest, with pure aesthetics and definately No banners, except greenpeace of course.

Hi all,

I'll say my bias upfront - yup i'm a main AVIT organiser - but what i'll add to what has been said is this:

Its allways hardest doing the first of something, we're creating something out of the vacuum and there is no precident for us to show officialdom. If we get AVIT off the ground, and document it properly, any future event in your neck of the woods becomes a thousand times easier as we give you a media pack to send straight off to venues, funders, government bodies etc showing a successful event, educational remits met etc etc... and a 360 degree screen, 60 meters across and 12 foot high.

Think about it.

Hope that doesn't come across too condescending.

I have a Sponsorship pack, needs a bit more visual content, but, this is available if any VJ out there can think of a contact who might be up for any type of financial support. Whether it is exclusive/branding deals/personal sponsorship/ tax incentive donations/advertising/pure goodwill/ or other?

The lead time for corporate and arts based funding takes many months and this event was never in that timescale nor started on that basis. As we know from a spark put down by Unj, this event has crept up into something very tangeable and is going to be some hell of a gig. ppl have slowly warmed to the idea and so are now getting more involved. Whatever we put in place here (as spark pointed out) will carry on!

So lets have your input!! There are over 800 members to call on, do we want to get noticed for what we do or not. This event will help. A contact email address from an individual or the correct person in a company, will be well appreciated.

Thanks for your time

Thanks Todd, I guess the plug makes my support a sponsorship then? ;)

I should mention that the link is to a package of plugins for VisualJockey only, since no other app allows externally developed plugins.

I'm actively looking for apps I can port my effects to, any developers who are interested, give me an email.

Playing your visuals to music and getting paid (more) for it..........

Mr PeteWarden

Yes they were just the right thing needed for VjO, now the soft has a more video friendly side to it, not just hi end graphic capabilities. I know where your coming from on that one.
sorry to go off topic, but we have promised sponsors complete coverage, and the buck starts here:nod:

visualize your VJ forum, attach them on the threads.
