Looking to Contact Vj's in Northern NZ

G'day all i am an aussie vj, from Perth.

It looks like i will be in North Is. for New years Eve this year. Basically i am trying to see if i can get a gig that night? Also i am after some information on whats on on NYE in the north Is.?

I am not too stressed about getting paid mucho mucho
i would just like an oppertunity to showcase my skills whilst i am in another country!

Would also love to catch up with other vj's while i'm in NZ.

Spreading the vj lurve all across the southern hemisphere!

Whats the vj scene like in NZ?
and maybe more importantly - whats the chance of finding a decent party on NYE?

As far as it goes NZ has a very strong outdoor party scene and usually there are at least 3 big festivals around the country. Last NYE there was one in the Corromandel, Nelson and Central South Island. These events get between 3000-6000 ppl. At the last AlpineNYE we had over 30 VJ's showcased throughout the 3 day event.

Unfortunatly this year could be a little bit less accesable for VJs, no major outdoor fetivals have been confirmed although there will be another Resolutions in the Coromandel and a new DnB focused event in Nelson. We usually co-ordinate one of the main parties but as of yet have not confirmed anything major.
Of course there's the clubs in the main centres but they're usually cash cows for promoters - low expenditure, big profit, 1 VJ gigs - which maybe our plan (sadly).

And i'm no stranger to vj'ing in front of that many people.

Oh well i will continue looking and listening to whats possibly going on....

sorry to disapoint you but the Bay of Islands is normally home to a big outdoor bogun fest if i remember correctly.

never heard of anything dance orientated up that way. nothing of a large size anyway.

Oh, Come on Apu ;) Bay of Isle aint all that bad..... I heard a guy with some ok sounding Goa pounding from the boot of his car up that way once... Cred where creds due and all that.

Might be a bit late for the Auckland City VJs on NYE, the crew that sort most of that out are pretty organised many months in advance (but ya might get lucky)

But get in contact with Ben, its a sure deal - and a wicked event.

BTW, Ben - hows the line up for RES05 looking? Sorry we couldn't make it :-(
