View Full Version : Wireless scan converter

I was shopping for a PC to TV converter when I came across this. Its a scan converter that allows you to send the signal to up to four receivers at a max distance of 100 meters. Sounds like it has all the goods of a normal converter (zoom and pan, etc.) Having the ability of setting up the receiver in a remote location with the projectors without having to lay down the wiring seems very appealing. What the signal looks like has yet to be determined. I may just go ahead and buy it if no one has had any experience with it and share my findings.

Hmmm most wireless setups tend to get very distoryed in party environments due to the large amounts of interferance put out by the PA :(

I wonder if the bandwith of the video would be better if no audio signal is send. I mean, those wirelss systems always use stereo audio but in case that no one use it would the video signal run better (less risk of distortion)?

I would imagine you would see the same distortion across the entire signal, audio and video.
That said seems the new 2.4ghz systems seem to be getting good reports in the other thread.

bandwith of an audio signal (20kHz) is very small, compared to bandwith of a video signal (5-15MHz)

with TZT... there are some flicker issues, but honestly I haven't poked at it's flicker adjustment... the wireless part isn't worth the extra money... it does save your Zoom & Pan settings, which is nice, but the overscan is pretty much useless (huge crop) not bad, but sorta "plastic"y.
