I?ve got a bit of a dilemma here. I have a projector, but no good stand for it. I want something telescoping and portable, like a camera tripod but much taller and with a flat platform on top.
Any advice on where to find something like this (or find parts to build my own) would be greatly appreciated.
I need it for a gig this Sunday, so there is precious little time.
You are my last and only hope.

music stores like guitarcenter will have sturdy tripod stands made for holding speakers like for wedding DJs. They also sell attachments that can give you a flat surface on top.

trotsky's got one just like you're talking about, hit up the LAVA board or e-mail the group lava e-mail.
you can also pick up that mount the murph suggested and a lighting tripod.

Cool, thanks for the help. I'll drop momo a line later. I can always stop by guitarcenter or sam ash after work.
Thanks again.

Groovepack Speaker Stand (http://tinyurl.com/yvj5n)
Attach a square of wood to the sleeve (just need 4 screws and a strong wrist) and you're good to go!
I've been using this for maybe 2 months now...can't beat it for $50 :)
