Anyone at the Plasa this year?
Did you get to Avolites stand for a demo of the Radlite system?
what d'you think of it?
Pani have introduced a removable lcd panel into their projectors,
Pigi got a new baby, and the Barco catalyst??SUPERB but putting the visuals squarely into the hands of the lampy's-not sure about that.
any way off to sell the house, the car and the kids....

being a lampy my self, i don't think i'd have a problem :D
just the idea of being able to completely syncronise all visual effects (ie. all house lights go blue, all stage lights go blue and all video goes blue - or whatever ) at the touch of a button....droool
the radlite website is a bit lacking but i was promised that it would be better in a week or so.

Yep the Catalyst is serious high end.
for those who dont know it, its one motherfucker of a lcd projector with a moving head- you can program it the same way as you would a mac but instead of a light beam your projecting data/video to where ever and when ever you want it.

no "high end" as in aproduc made by "high end" the manufacturer of intelegents lights such as the cyberlight who are freinds of flying pig.
[QUOTE]high priced junk more like.[/QUOTE}
agreed. - the only sensible use i can link of is for huge productions with mobile screens in the style of pink floyd and U2's Popmart

The club I worked in installed a radlite system to control their visuals cos they got too mean to pay me.
After 3 weeks they asked me to bring my gear again.
It is dreadful

I was under the impression that those projectors with moving heads had the ability to focus at each program point, so as to avoid the focusing problem, has anyone actually worked with one?

Yep they do.
Weve had them in for a show and they are very effective.
