hi!

im looking to purchase a video mixer.. ive been looking on ebay but keep getting unlucky :( (gee that was great english wasnt it).

looking to spend a maximum of AU$1000 and have considered the following models:

WJMX 10
WJMX 30

AVE 5
AVE 7

Videonics MX1

So id be after one of them or something similar... basically looking to get the best value for money - doesnt need to be too flash, basically will be using it at the underage dance parties i run (http://www.minus18.org/) to mix between the visuals DVD and the custom video-mixes we play (ie from DVD to DVD and occasionally to a video camera of the dancefloor/stage)

Let me know!! Would prefer anything in Melbourne, Australia, or within Australia.

Thanks!
Mark.

might be a little bit late, but maybe its for general concern.

I had the MX10, the AVE 3 and 5 and I could not recomend any of them.
limited in functions and quite rough keying.
go at least for the MX 12 to start off or spend your au$ on the V4.

The first reason, after dropping it at burning man, and dumping orange juice in it, mind you the OJ got cleaned out rather quickly afterwards. Its still works flawlessly. Simple to use, easy to progam the users functions. Has fade effect that work like chromokey. And for $1200 u.s. new, the non-DV version, it's easy on the pocket. Or if you have an extra kick ass machine, you should go Video toaster, I do believe the PC hardware and software is only around $600, but the stand alone is unbelievebly expensive, but it is an Amiga system, so for the price I guess it wasn't bad, considering the amiga I want is $30,000.
Good luck on yo shopping

Yeah MX12 would prolly be right for you and I saw one go VERY cheap on ebay recently, plus if your in australia and know the "right" ppl it can be luma modded (and no one get on my case about the mod instructions, I don't know them, jsut the bloke that does them, and it seems the ppl that are supposed to be documenting it are either VERY busy or its just not a priority for them.... sorry)
