This - http://users.skynet.be/fa317632/fisheye/8mm.wmv - is the final version [ just the credits are lacking ] of a commissionned A/V piece ... we had to do an "abstract narrative piece that wouldn't scare people away for the national Heritage Day" , theme was "It's all in the family" ...

We [ basically the video part was Kris from http://www.fisheye.be ] only had 2 weeks to go trough 9 hours of digitalised 8 mm footage, make the visuals and audio .. so there was quite a timeconstraint and we don't consider this our best we could have done ...

Every seperate athmosphere was -on the audio side -improvised against the footage, in AudioMulch using custom Mulch instrument . When the entire visuals were ready, I recorded everything in Ableton Live, and played the recorded clips live -again - with addition of a few Ableton efx.

The arrangement was than carefully edited in the arranger and mixed down in Ableton as well ...

For A/V previewing and sync checking I used VirtualDub.

For this webversion I rendered it to avi and used Microsofts Encoder to render it to wmv . [ Have found no other free tools to convert to mpg ]

Thanx for the link .. encoding as we speak .. have been googling for 2 days without having found this link once ...!!!

Just one thing though , I can only encode at a min of around 750 kb, any way to encode at a webfriendly 256 or 512 ...

Cool. I like the mixing of the non 8mm stuff with the 8mm footage

I did myself also 8mm.

Kris is redoing his site ... that's probably what happened ...

On the other hand .. you did again a stellar job on this one .. really gives the audio a deeper dimension!
