elbows
19th April 2004, 12:10 AM
Here is this months newsletter. So is there a good day/time/date that we can agree on to have a online chat about this years UK event? Usually the avit uk team chat at 8PM UK Time on Tuesdays (or Mondays on the last week of the month), so that is when we are used to being around. But if there is some other day or time that is suitable for more people in the community to make, we would love to know, cheers :)

1 - A message from the AVIT UK Team
**********************************************

Hello again from the AVIT UK team!

Its been another busy month as we study all the module submissions that have arrived and begin to get ready for another round of callouts to artists and VJ's.

At the moment, we would like to encourage everyone to think about what sessions, workshops and performances you would like to see and what you can bring to the festival as an individual. Callouts for these aspects of the event will be coming soon, so now is the time to get your plans together.

AVIT North America is not far away now, artist submissions have closed and performance decisions are in their final stages. See the news item below for comments from the AVIT NA team.

We wish you another successful month and look forward to having time to consider more closely all the fantastic proposals that have been submitted.

The AVIT UK team.

2 - AVIT UK 2004 Module submissions are closed
*************************************************

The deadline for module submissions has finally come and we are pleased to say that you have given us a fine selection of innovative and interesting projects to choose from. Our thanks go out to all those who have submitted proposals, we are now starting the process of contacting you to discuss things further.

Over the next few weeks we will continue to deliberate over those we feel are the strongest, and plan to announce our final decisions towards the end of April or early in May.

3 - AVIT UK 2004 VJ Central Public Chat
*************************************************

Earlier this year the AVIT team held a public chat meeting in the VJ Central chat-room to offer advice about module ideas and to talk about how to best get people involved.

We found the experience to be really beneficial and rewarding. As a result we plan to have another public online chat meeting soon, to talk about the module decisions and allow another opportunity for anybody with questions to put them to the team.

This would be an ideal meeting to attend if you plan to come to AVIT and get involved in any aspect, be it educational or performance.

The date of the meeting will be confirmed within the next few weeks via this newsletter and VJ Central. Visit vjforums if you would like to discuss which times & dates you could attend an online chat, and so help influence this decision.

The chat-room is located at http://www.vjcentral.com/chat/enter.php or if you have an irc chat client you can get access at irc.visiscreen.com, port 6667, channel #vjchat.
