ok, I'm gonna try to keep this thread updated with all the stuff going on at plush...
Last night, 4/13 sound.light.motion (us) VJ'd with Max Graham headlining. Trance/Progressive House/whatever you wanna call it, and lots of fun swirly crazy stuff on the screens, it was fun, as always. =]
Last week we had Higher Visions down from Duluth, definitely the best VJ I've seen! Wow, kalon had some sick shit, I'd put him as 2nd only to OVT in the midwest. I doubt he'll see this, but THANK YOU! for coming out and jamming with us. =] Oh yeah, scott henry and charles feelgood were headlining. They weren't as bad as I'd expected. =] (scott even finished the night with a cool floyd remix)
Next week we've got Lucid! They're coming down from Madison, probably the 2nd best crew we've had here, in the same month as Higher Visions! They're also bringing their laser, which is always fun, playing alongside Pete Tong & Thomas Krome. It's gonna be a sick sick fucking night!
4/21 The Sasha & Digweed tour are coming around, I can't wait to see what they're doing production-wise, I've heard the lights/lasers are a little lacking, but the visuals are awesome, so we'll see about that, and I don't know where or why they'd put their sound system in there, that club certainly doesn't need help, but we'll see I guess... =]

4/27 - tonight - VJ Spongemonkey w/ Christopher Lawrence and Steve Porter.

Sat night we were happy to host Visul Audio, from chicago mixing for us, playing alongside Josh Wink, it was awesome! =]
Next week we (sound.light.motion) take the reigns and get sloppy with a video mixer. Mark ponders the meaning of a goat's life, Carl makes love to his laptop, and I'll be staring blissfully at blinky lights. It should be, at the very least, amusing.

Last week, while I was on a bit of vacation, Spongemonkey rocked the house with his usual thang, minimal interlaced craziness.
This week we played again, and had the best crowd response ever, something like 20+ people came up and told us they liked it! wow! =] Icey played a surprisingly good set, but couldn't compare to Reid Speed, who had one of the better DnB sets I've heard. Dave from Lucid was in town with his laser, which is always a treat. =]
Next week VJ Totovader does his thing with Donald Glaude and DJ Dayhota on the decks.
On the 22nd Opus Eye will be making their debut as VJs, fooling around to the likes of BT.

wow, this month's URB names plush as one of the top 10 club nights in the country!
We all knew it was true, but it's nice to see the recognition on the national level!

Totovader and Opus Eye rocked the house in the past two weeks, and this week it was our turn. We got to do a special 6-projector setup this time, shooting two of them to a big house hung above the dancefloor. It was a technical disaster, but we improvised and held things together during the show.
The reason behind the big setup was Qbert, turtablist master of the universe, and boy did he deliver! After an already awesome set, some fuckwad threw a glass that hit the mixer, breaking it and a turntable. He left the stage, but after hearing the crowd going nuts, decided to come back on and just improvise. With a broken table and broken mixer he still managed to put other turntablists to shame, and decided to finish it off by scratching to jungle for the first time in his life. Not only can he do it, but he kept up with the fast pace of jungle way better than any jungle DJ I've ever heard! Wow! It was quite the night...

Sounds like one of those shows......too bad I missed it (and every other show except the one we did visuals for).......and congrats on the URB recognition. That really is saying something!

It's been a busy few weeks, but I'm back on track... The past few weeks featured locals spongemonkey and rik, then we did our thing last week. This week Lucid will be coming down from madison, bringing their usual vibe, and the week after that, another 'sconie, VJ NixMix from milwaukee, will be making her plush debut. I'm looking forward to the next couple weeks, maybe I'll see some of you out there? (riiight)

NixMix tore it up, and last weekend was Opus Eye, returning (unfortunately) sans-projectors, due to a problem with an earlier show... next week we're performing, then LEVLHED from the render brothers will be here from Milwaukee. I'm looking forward to next week, it'll be our first show in what I'm calling our next generation of sets...

This week we had some technical problems, but still had a decent show going, got to use 3 screens, which was nice, wish everything was working properly though.
Next week: The return of VJ LEVLHED! We're pleased to have him back, and it'll be the debut of the Rebelle by Restate at plush, should be interesting at the very least. =]

after taking care of all possible necessary and unecessary fucking about, I can say I am heading out the door on my way to PLUSH, to attempt an as-yet unseen, needlessly complex, far too reliant on archaic technology combination of things better left unsaid...

poor guy, he's probably too tired... (actually I think he said he was going to his parent's place to help with something)
Anyway, he had a great set, had a camera feed going through an amiga to the TVs, and VJing with MX-1 and VCDs on the big screens.
I had my car towed, and he locked his keys in the van, so we didn't get back till like 5ish, but it worked out in the end. Bummer of a night towards the end, but better than I'd feared technically. (I couldn't be there for setup)
Next week's plush is an all-locals showcase, presumably in anticipation of Furthur, which isn't happening. It still looks to be one of the better lineups I've seen, (our local talent is really quite good, very underrated) with VJ Totovader doing visuals.

last few weeks have been nuts... on 9/14 VJ Mindtrap came down from chicago, had a great set, and he and his crew were a lot of fun, hoping to see them again soon. 9/21 rik VJed for Deep Dish, who played a 5 hour set. (wow, *almost* as long as the VJ!) Last weekend it was VJ Spongemonkey & Gaetano Parisio, and next weekend, we've got Opus Eye!
October has some very special things in store on both the DJ and VJ fronts for Plush, and I'm pretty excited.
