banksey - yeh wicked one of my favorite artists - his interlectual defence of graf and the politics behind his work are spot on...
i don't like that amon video though - a couple of people have raved to me about it but i just don't see whats so good about it?

Hmmm, I tend to agree with sleepy on the Amon Tobin video, it is just a 3d scene with rapidly changing textures on the cars, not amazingly difficult to do and doesnt compare to this video (http://www.ministryofsound.com/Asx/Videos/BoogiePimps/BoogiePimps_SomebodyToLove_300k.asx). ;)
It may be cheesy as hell, but the production values are high, and it doesnt get boring after seeing it a couple of times. Tho it is questionable as to whether the theme of it is slightly wrong ;). (ps watch out for the face of the one who's thigymybob doesnt open (didnt want to give too much away ;) ) )
Oh and banksy rules!

Banksy is wikked! When I lived in London, on spare weekends I would cruise round on a graffiti safari taking pictures. Lot's of fun. It's got me hooked, and where ever I am, I have a camera with me to take snaps of all the wonderful street art I come across. Barcelona has tons of amazing graffiti artists. Dr Hoffman and Miss Van are two that come to mind... and there are a few sites around now that are completely dedicated to stickering, stencils + graffiti. It's a vibrant scene.
Brightonians are gonna be in for a real treat as Banksy is going to be showing some new work during the Fringe Festival in May. The exhibition is gonna take place in the Basement of the Argus Lofts [right underneath our flat!], as well as around the streets of Brighton I would imagine...

Some of the best graf i've seen was in Italy, the Cadorna/Via Ferari (sorry bout the spelling) Metro Station was a load of really interesting slogans, as well as in Genoa; and opposite the Euroline bus station in Pisa is a massive graf covering the whole side of a multi-storey buidling.
Also at the Gough Modern (damn fine mueseum) in Amsterdam there was an exebit of graf, which was really nice and says a lot about the acceptance of it within art circles.
