i had a long talk about the whole range of appian products with the one of the german distributors earlier this year , even covering the traveller (far from being new btw :)) so about the traveller 4 vj purposes forget it: this thingy is aimed @ powerpoint presentations and 4MB on board ram doesn't make much sense with todays vjsoft.

Hmmm ok its a a field I only just looked into so as for not be new, cool.....

Yeah I guess 4mb is a bit crap, although I start doing video with a PCI TV out card that only had 1mb.... and maybe with the directX extra for second monitors it could produce something reasonable.

believe me, Morph, they r far better onboard gfxcards with the
dualhead features in the lappys nowadays than the traveller @ a more reasonable price compared to the appian device. i can't the remember the actual price of the traveller, but i guess it was mid three figures in us bucks.

Hmmm ok, then why isn't anyone doing PCMCIA versions of the latest killer cards for laptop users??? I have to admit it frustartes me know end to have to hook up a scan converter to do the zooming on my output when i have a composite output sitting there doing nothing, hopefully softscan will come through but after testing.

what's the deal with softscan? weak performance? well that ain't a task for the weak at heart (read cpu). if it performs fine on a big dell lappy doesn't
mean it does ok on the rest of the lappies.
