I've just want to tell you something about language that we usually use, about English. I am from Ukraine; maybe any of you know such country. The language we speak is Russian and a beat Ukrainian...
My work connected (i don't how it translates into English) with TV,
and I?ve decided to learn something about VJing from the WEB.
I've locked through a lot of sites and I haven?t found any of them in Russian, its very pity...
My proposition is the next.. Maybe it will be better if Admins of the Vjforuum.com make a small part of message boards in Russian. Maybe a little part of members understands Russian and they will get a possibility to talk....
Sorry for my BAD English
Eugen...

i don't think it's a wise idea to start separating countrywise, when our aim is to form a global community.
if u want to reach ppl with the same interests and native language, put up a thread (like u did) or browse thru the members list to find ppl from ur country already on the board.
regards, hama

I thought about language-specific forums but the problem is that I'm afraid people will end up only posting in their language forum and other forums will only be used by american, australian and english people, thus ending the global community. This is at least what I noticed on other message boards who opened language-specific forums. So I don't know... What do other people think of this?

i would feel like i was mising something if there was stuf that i couldn't read but maybe thats the problem in the first place and thats what people who don't have english as a first langue are saying? but i would go with x on this and the fact that it is one langue creates the colectivity on some basic level

speaking a few languages myself, i have to tell you that progs on the net like babelfish etc. aren't really worth much when it comes to translating an entire text or sentences. their translations tend to be nonsense (as soon as you don't use basic language & syntax that is). they are good tools as dictionairies, though (i guess there's 'real' dictionairies on the net, too).
judging from your posts i wouldn't recommend you to use any of these translation-progs, because your english is better than what they can 'translate'.
ps: i translated the post of unj (who seems to be a native speaker) to german & back to english:
I would believe, how I something mising, if it gradate, which I could not read, but possibly thats the problem in the first place and thats gave, what people, which do not have English, while a first langue says? but I with x on this to go and the fact that it is a langue, causes colectivity on any fundamental level
...you still get some idea of what he was saying, but it's very distorted.

I would have to throw my opinion in with X on this one, I think it would only serve to divide ppl.
