Red and Green psuedo 3D

Remember those old 3d movies where you had to where red and green 3d glass's, well what about getting some video converting it to red and green and then slightly offsetting the colours in after effects or somthing to create a kind of pseudo 3d effect then handing out 3d glass's at the gigs? do you reckon this would work? or do you think it would fuck the punter's head up in a vomit inducing way? heheheheheh!

It wouldn't create a stereoscopic 3d image, since the image in each eye would be the same, and would probs cause you to have a lot of cross-eyed muntered punters :)

what about setting up two dv cams side by side, arranged to match the eye's field of vision? and record your own 3d footage then overlay both images and convert each channel to red and green?

what you're looking for is called 'stereoscopic' or '2 1/2 D' images. the filter/effect for viewing with colored glasses is called 'anaglyph'.

intrinsic just made a freeframe effect that simulates this, works pretty well depending on the footage, should be out any day now

there are plugins for 3dstudio that can output correct stereographic renderings of models, fyi.
