well this new years eve for some reason i had no gig set-up . why ? i guessing times are tight and folks are cutting back on the "extras". "so" i thought why not throw my own show and hire me to do the VJing . so i had a meeting with a good friend with a killer restaurant and talked him into using it for the party where-in i would do all the work and we would split the door . all the calls went in for the DJ line up i wanted and the right sound crew to match it , then it was all up to me to promote it . not having had done this before it was a real challenge . i mean i know the science of how to throw a party but in practice is hard going , however it was a good experience . the party was not only a huge mash hit , but everyone got paid , the restaurant made a killing , everyone that went said it was the best party they had been to in years , and i managed to pay myself for the gig when no work was there if i hadn't . now i'm not trying to blow my own horn , i just saying it possible , and also to let it be known to all those promoters out there , you can afford to hire us VJ's to blast your shows and still make your money , i pulled it off and didn't even get a cut of the bar sales . on the flip side , being the face of the party and making it all happen just about did me in , so hats off they've got a tough racket .

it's all about connections.... I could probably pull it off too, ...I know a few people with nice sound, know more DJ's than I probably care to, know a few venue owners/managers on a first name basis, flyer designers/printers, banner/sticker makers, and know enough people that help spread the word to making flyering feasible... so yeah... it's not that hard when you know people who own their own gear...

Try working in a town where 98% of the population think that Daft Punk and ministry of sound is 'fuking hard choones'.

Good onya and do a few more for the team!
