Finally got access to a Mac to try this software out. It is very cool. The interface is one of the best I have found for creating complex, unique compositions. It is sort of a balance between MAX/MSP/Nato and visualJockey. Haven't explored too much in it, but it appears to be very flexible.
I know a musician that has been working with a video crew that uses Isadora to create performance visuals. They claim that it is rock solid and a good performer

i haven't used it in a few months, so i'm not sure how it has progressed, but it was already pretty fantastic. lots of cool stuff in there, and it's quite efficient. there's a lot of setup work, but they make that part fun. =)

Isadora? v0.9.5b2 has just been uploaded to the TroikaTronix web site. The new version has several features, actors and bug fixes. (See a list below.) The manual has been updated to reflect all of the new functionality, and the examples have been expanded to demonstrate some of the new features.
For those in video production, one nice, new feature is the new non-real time rendering function. It allows you to interactively try out your patches, and then to go into non-real mode to render your final output at full resolution and full frame rates.

For information on all of the changes, refer to the Read Me included with the program download.
Thanks for your support and interest.
