Hi there guys ...
I went to the kijkshop-site and saw the tft for 179?
this is the link. Rather long, but what the hell ...
http://www.kijkshop.nl/online/Shop/product_details.asp?catalog%5Fname=MainCatalog&category%5Fname=Auto+audio&product%5Fid=87716&variant%5Fid=87716
For everyone who doesn't understand dutch : it's only the tft on the picture, the cables, the remote and the foot that come for the 179 ?. The dvd-set is 369? I think. They also say they deliver within 24hours, but I think that's for Holland only.
Nevertheless : 179? for a 5.5 inch is rather cheap. Not overwhealming, but 'rather' cheap. If you don't have to go there and collect your shit, you save some money (=time!)
Later on, I'll post a message on cheap tft's, have to wait till the shop opens ! (within an hour !)
Wouter from Belgium ...

Hi there ...
I found a 4" lcd for around 120 euros.
It's not in a housing, but meant to build in yourself.
I managed to make a deal with the shopkeeper around here (antwerp, belgium) that we can have the monitors for 97 euros a piece, if we buy several pieces. Let me know guys, if we can manage to buy as a group, ya never know.
I like the fact that it has two entrances, I'm building them in a 19" rack, three next to each other.
Here's the specs :
2 video inputs
controls : colour, contrast, brightness, volume
Specifications
resolution : 383 x 234 dots
screen size : 4" (diag.)
video inputs : 1.0Vpp (composite)
audio input : 1.1Vpp
power supply : DC 12V
power consumption
And here's a picture to give you an idea...

Sounds like a PAL vs. NTSC issue...

Well it should be for both, thats wat stands on the box.....
But there isn't any kind of switch anywhere to change it, cause it
obviously doesn't do it by itself.....

If your model really supports both types, perhabs it als has a s-video in? Then you need to connect the second pin to your input signal as well.
About the display for 97 ?...
This is damn cool, does nearly exactly half pal, perfect for my purposes.
Lets see if I got the money. How much time do I have to decide?

Well it doesn't have any s-video plug, only a RCA plug voor the video in................
But I returned it today and got my money back....so my search goes on for a good lcd monitor.....

For UK ppl and I suppose EU
Maplins Electronics stores will be selling 5.5" TFT LCD panels for ?149.00 in their sale starting soon..........
Otherwise Farnell Electronics seem to do a fair range for builder projects

Oh I forgot to mention
The 5.5" TFT panels are prewired for composite 1V p-p input and 9 or 12V (can't remember which dc power supply :-)
