database error

sorry if the message board was unaccessible for some time (don't know how long), the table which stores the name of users on the chatroom somehow got corrupted, i had to delete it and recreate it.

it was a terrifying couple of hours but we held together..thank goodness the precious vjchat is on a different server ;)

another database problem... the member table got corrupted and was displaying errors all over vjcentral. luckily i could repair it with a single command (sometimes, but rarely, you love technology :alien: )

i receieved this error today:

maybe part of the same problem??

This error occured in the right side bar. Otherwise no other errors occured through the forums.

all the reviews are showing up as sql errors.

grrr now it's the software table which got corrupted, repaired it... i'm getting a bit worried, why so many corruptions now when there was hardly any before? i've not enough knowledge about MySQL/linux to be able to answer that question :( hopefully it's not an hard drive problem...

you make backups ... dont you ?

i think this is like a VJ bible .... backups are really a must have

yes i make backups, did one yesterday and the week before for both vjforums and vjcentral. when vjforums started, we lost 3000 posts due to a lack of backups so it's a lesson well learnt...

i highly doubt it's an hacker.

hmm...vjc is still showing a million errors. I think neone who is stupid enough to hack a vj forum should be shot.

still the same problem, tables index being corrupted, i've really no time to look at the problem at the moment, hopefully next week. in the meanwhile i've explained other vjc developers how to repair the tables so that vjc can keep on functionning even when i'm away.
