Hey Guys, this is my virgin post to this forum.

I've recently been thinking about a function i'd like to be able to perform as an artist. I'll just paste in the word document i wrote up yesterday or the day b4 here cause I think it explains what I'm looking 4 best.

Aim

To find or initiate the development of a plug-in/tool for a photo editing suite such as Adobe Photoshop that allows the user to record actions in real time as video files (AVI or MPEG) and/or output as a live feed.

Applications

Artistic (Live Performance)

The plug-in/tool allows the user to output a visual feed of the creative process (drawing, painting, erasing, pattern stamping, whatever action) as it takes place.

From the standpoint of a digital animator/artist, the recording or live output of the creative process becomes a new form of expression.

The ability to capture and/or display a visual representation of the creative process as it happens attaches importance and meaning to that process.

Here in such a display, the emphasis is placed on momentary decision-making, rhythm, flow and journey rather than on a pre-programmed end product that?s genesis and development are unknown to the attendees/audience and alien to the unique "in the now" experience as a whole. In saying this, I feel that a live music performance setting is the best forum for the creative application of this tool.
In a live display or performance the artist creates something that?s of the moment so, it follows that everyone experiencing this creation is essentially a part of it. The creation is not pre-programmed and so becomes a more true expression of the artists experience and so the peoples. For the artist in this instance can be a conduit who channels the feelings and vibrations inherent to the experience as a whole and translates them visually.

The artist?s experience of the moments shared with everybody else feeds the live feed that is on display. The display becomes like a living organism that grows and changes according to its environment.

A display where the artist uses digital tools as an expression of what it feels like to be alive in that moment.

Well that my document/proposal as it exists right now.

I'm a lazy bastard so I haven't read much of the other forums or threads so this question or proposition may have been put forward already but I'd really appreciate it if I could get some feedback as to whether there is an app or plug-in that already exists that can do this or if anyone knows if this is possible from a programming perspective cos I can't program and know absolutely nothing about that stuff.

Cheers guys

The program you're looking for is called SnagIt! It will record whatever takes place in a window. Invest a few bucks in a scan convertor for live perfomances, the rest is gravy
