Lee - if that goes for $500 I'll eat my dog! Maybe we should run a book - tho I'm not familiar with the ways of the US ebay, but in europe, that mutha will double its price in the last few minutes!

Ah - upon further reading you may be right, they don't seem too specific on what's wrong with it. Dog - get over here!

i've seen a couple go for around 600-800 quid recently on ebay.co.uk - which is about what they are worth IMHO

Any idea what the bottom line is for an engineer to open one up? You know, plumber walks into your house, thats ?40 before his tool box is opened?

?75 for dignostic and repairs/referbs range ?300-?600.
I know of a couple of 50s that have changed hands at ?100 between wedding vidieographers as they moved over to digi,
Since 50s are no longer in production, its a sellers market. working 50s in good condition are worth ?1k.
?600-?800 plus referb to put a rough one back to rights is still on target.
Vjs looking for them is bound to stabilise their value in the long run. but the short supply and rising demand should push the price up and not down.
All in all a Good 50 will keep its value.
