right this thred has been inspired by reading threds hear and at eye candy and its probably going to make me very unpopular with one and all but hay its good for the ego anyway read on.......................
basicly i have been thinking about creativity, samperling, self-creation and all the rest and what i percive is that the desire and fundermental, within a % of the population need by some, is conected to the disire to say "this is who i am", "look at me"
which in tern then leeds the indervidual to work within cirtain peramiters, wether that be self created or political statment or whatever
but i dont feel i need to justifi my self and my existance within these terms of referance, so what if i dont create anything in what i show - the punters like it (most important thing) or within creativity - i dont have anything to say because an indervidual will find it out for themselves in there own way with out my crap way of saying it, and i cirtainly dont want to change the world - you want to do that and all your after is controle of anouthers perception of the world around them
so.................ware does that leave me?
makeing preaty pictures for people who are of there heads, doesnt seem to bad a thing to do with your life when you consider the options ;)

full ack.
imho political messages have nothing lost in a club environment. nor in the music neither in anything else. the people going to clubs want to forget their troubles. they definitely don't need somebody telling them about unemployment, wars and air pollution or whatever

Sometimes shock provides entertainment.
Baby seals being clubbed to death can be shocking.
I don't think there's anything wrong with conveying a message. Like with music, some people get the message, some just think it's good music.
Visuals can be good AND carry a message.
One doesn't exclude the other.

unj:
your message is that there is no message.
like it or not: it still is a message...
maybe not political, or artistic but maybe emotional or "spiritual?"
edit: to edit my louzy english....

I like to tell stories rather than portray "messages," because I like REALLY like characters but that's a very personal thing, it does my head in when people use terms like "eyecandy" in a derogatory manner- humans have been in the pursuit of beauty for thousands of years......... not worthless in my book :). My benchmark for visuals is not narrative or message, but quality- bad visuals are bad visuals are bad visuals.....

..perdantic or not (where is my dictionary?)
i am just saying what i read in your post.
why should you justify yourself? for who or what?
if you dont have a problem you dont have a problem.. right?
but.. knowing 'why' you do what you do , isn't a crime.
and as i can read .. you know quite well.

"but.. knowing 'why' you do what you do , isn't a crime".
These words are so true - especially on this forum, where there does appear to be a fair modicum of inverted snobbery around the issues of "art" or "creativity".

Really? I thought you were saying the opposite..... narrative etc, that's just my interest- but as I say its not my right to say that's the only way forward. Quality content in whatever form, that's the way forward.....
