Surfing around on Audiovisualizers.com I found an interesting article about Video wall.

Article about his Video Wall Experiments by Dave

The central question fo me is...:

To make a long story short, I'm still not quite educated enough ( at least in the video engineering field ), to design and construct a videowall controller capable of digitizing 60 fields of video per second, and then sending selected portions of the framestore to up to 64 different screens ( 8 by 8 matrix ), before resizing the info in real-time, and so on... It gets a bit complex

:help:

I would be happy with a 4 by 4 wall... any suggestions where to get a cheap "videowall controller" or how to build one??

I think there was discussion on here a while back about OVT's videowall. I'm just in a rush now to head out the door, but I'm sure if you search the archives either here or on eyecandy, you might just find the info. I've got it kick'in around here too somewhere on my HD? - I've been meaning to expand my videowall section with technical details on the OVT controller (pix below). I'll see what I can dig up when I get back later today.

Thx for your reply dave.

By searching in Vjforums and eycandy, i just found solutions from software side/PC internal. This works fine, as long as you dont want more than 2x2 matrixes (4x4 = 16 PCI cards??) or you if you don`t want to use an external TV signal (like from programs that don`t support multi monitor)

Searching the web for cheap Videowall processors resulted in > 15000 $ until "Call for pricing"

When i saw this video wall out of C64 Monitors, i thought to myself: If I get them to show one big picture devided over all CRT`s, this is a very stylish (and cheap) alternative for a projector. (even if its not a leight weight solution  )

I found the "Digimax eco" which looked to my like a small and perhabs cheaper type of processor, but I could not find the price anywhere.

In the moment I think for my purposes its the best to buy 4 cheap scan converters and use their zoom function to devide the signal.
But then again i can only use VGA input, which makes it inpossible to use a Videomixer in before.

This OVT Controller --> Is it the RS 8x8 Routing Switcher. Can it do what i want? I looks a little expensive to me.
