I've been having a hard time lately finding places to put my projector. Anyone out there using anything cheap and creative to get the projector above the crowd (in places other than a club)? Also any cheap but stylistic screen ideas??
Thanks!

get someone to make you some cradles - they should attach to a lighting bar with a standard lighting clamp and alow you to tilt the projector so it points at the screen - i'd take some pictures of mine but my cameras not here at the moment.
for freestanding stands i use pd11 or pd8 stands and a tbar using the same cradel to support the projector - or i use a simple flat bit of wood mounted on a top hat that fits on the pd11 with the projector ontop - ratchet strapped on
BTW allways use safty chains when hanging projectors / screens and don't use pd11s or any other floor stands if there are going to be punters wandering round them - they will knock them over!

I use a standard speaker stand with a homemade mount/cradle made from a solid maple cabinet door with a speaker "hat" on the bottom...the beamer is held in place on the cradle w/ shock cord...the cradle also has holes in each corner so it can be hung from shit with cord

Here's what ya call a 'stylistic screen idea'.
There's a company overhere (antwerp, belgium) that makes screens in any shape i want to. This means : If i need a round screen of 2.5 meters in retro-tissue (plastic) with velcro on the sides, they make it for almost nothing !!!
Okay, for people over in england it may seem far awy, but not having to buy a X000 euro fastfold screen looks worth the shipping or the trip. I have loads of experience in making screens by myself, and am willing to help or advice.
Start dreaming about you 10 foot 16/9 screen again ... it's within reach !!! I will try to put some pictures online to show how I did it ...
Their website (which is in English btw):

Greetz from Dronkie :)
(belgium; they can't play football, but boy do we have beer !)
