Anyone tried it? I really didnt know it existed until someone mentioned it on the LEV list.
Im trying to find time this evening to play with it more - I really want video to midi, thats why im interested in it. If anyone does give this a go please tell :)

I haven't tried it yet but from your review it sounds like a really cool app so I think I'll try it soon :)

Wahey sucess :)
Ive managed to create a patch which coverts the height of an object from live video input and translates it to midi controller output :)
The first frame it grabs is assmued to be the background, so keep off camera. Then when you or an object is moved in front of the camera, it picks up its height and send midi signals in realtime, which I then connect to variables in visualJockey so I can control the visual output.
Doing it all on the same PC at the moment which is overloading things a bit, I should really run EyesWebon another PC and link them up via midi.
Im happy, this looks very promising and Ive onlyjust started to experiment :) I'll post the patch later along with more instructions.

Patch available:

Hopefully its fairly obvious and Ive included some comments in it too. Basically you need to configure the live video and midi output modules to your own needs & hardware, then run the patch.

Cheers looks really interesting elbows..... I plan to play with it quite a bit.
Personally I have to admit I'm a sucker for some sliders and knobs when i'm playing :) not sure if I like the idea of the software responding to me falling off the stage drunk though :P

lol yeah I know what you mean :D
My plans relly involve using sliders, other midi sensors (eg build into clothes which I mentioed before) and just using live video to control some basic variables which are suited to it for certain effects.
Lighting is the most difficult consideration with this stuff becuase its quite hard to control such things in a club environment and changes in light levels cause big problems with motion detection etc at the moment.
One day I hope that it wil be possible to control a 3D character on screen just by moving your body, so a normal person dancing will cause eg a robot or demon to dance in the same way. This can be achieved right now with vastly expensive cameras and with the person wearing spcial markers in hundreds of points all over their body. Mostly I think its used for animation houses to save time by turning real human movement straight into character movement.
Ahh well I just lok forward to the day when stuff like this is "the norm".

ok, this software made enough points in my scale so it's now also in my setup :) ...the "idea" is the same as in pd but with different GUI and a lot "easier" objects... (when i get my cams PU i'll start experimenting with that motionTracking)
btw
i've heard about it, but only now i got the possibilty 2 test it. so now i KNOW that windows WORX with 2 (or more?) video ins at the same time... (i got cougar video edition & miro(pinnacle) pctv)
but
here's a VERY interesting method:

hello
Yeah Ive used it uner win2k and can load & save.
There is a problem in your registry I think - the save/load path isnt there and it should be, so things get messed up.
I saw the fix on their messageboard, let me see if I can dig up the instructions....
No I cant do it from work as its all newsgroups and I dont have them setup here. I'll post the instructions when I get home.

Wht happens exactly when you try to save?
Have you tried loading by double clicking on an eyesweb patch file rather than using file->load?

ok, i CAN open with drag&drop (or double click) but when i try to save, it just freezes (with a hour-glass)...
