Hi
I am having difficulties with a recently acquired PC1600x midi control station with VisualJockey R3.2
Basically I have an unbarable latency ( delay between note values and continuous controllers ) and VJock's responses.
I had a simple 2D clip running and using the Joystick as a controller it responds well......
My config is AMD Athlon 1.3GHz 512MB DDR266 RAM Geforce 2MX 32MB
Current CODEC Cinepak ( no temporal compression) 640x480 32bpp
Anyone else use a midi fader / button wing or Kaos Pad etc........
Surely VJock isn't supposed to be this sluggish to midi? Also I only have one channel listed (Demo version)
I haven't had the software long (about a month) and I'm still running in Demo until I decide to committ.............So far I am very impressed but I am trying to guage how tactile it is going to be?
Any help / comparisons much appreciated.
Anyone

Elektro,
Try going to the dedicated online forum for VJo
you can find it easily from the visualjockey.com
front page, you might have to sign up though
if you're not already...
look out for Elbows, Josh and Many-2
they're pretty much the dons of vJo...
good luck,
VJ NE1

but u noticed that the mididemo interrupts the datastream every few seconds? we tried the demo with a doepfer regelwerk, and the midi response was quite ok.

Yes I had a play with it for a few hours last night and that's what would appear to be happening
The data stream is interupted for a couple of seconds whenever a continuous controller is allocated to a function. It reads like a square wave in the graphic window and only responds to incoming cc output when it's in its positive cycle but that is nothing to do with having a function defined but just using a inital value setting.
So is this a demo thing? I can't see why they'd want to cripple it like that though the one channel possibly?
Oh and I am still trying to register at the VJo forum it doesn't seem to be registering people properly ATM... just wind up with a blank php call in your browser.

Sorry to iterate a post
I am just trying to get an answer to whether the interuption to midi data stream from a controller is a cripple function of the demo of the midi capture plugin
I have tried swapping soundcards and even using an old Turtle Beach card.....yes remember those fine pieces of discontinued kit...LOL
But to no avail and I am therefore convinced it must be.......... I wish to purchase this software but I don't want to end up with a big can of worms to eat if I do an my hardware is not going to work right with VJo
I have tried registering with the VJo forums but for some reason their php is all screwed............ I tried on three terminals now and to no avail
Any help most appreciated

Ive fixed the forums, sorry about that, I was only alerted to the problem by someone the other day. An avatar related bug was responsible. I fixed them on Sunday, so if you are still having problems please let me know.
Yes it is a feature of the demo that it is crippled in that way. If the demo were limited to one channel, and that was the only cripple, then it would still be useable to people, you would find people using it and not paying for it. So, I can see why it is crippled in that way, irritating though it is.
The download page for the midi driver mentions the limitations:
Demo Version Limitations
Only channel 1 is open for data capturing
Data capturing pauses every 2 seconds
Sorry I didnt spot this thread earlier.
