first of all. HALO world! i have been reading these boards for a few weeks now and must congratulate all of ye as this forum is a gold mine of information for the unitiated.

i can't seem to log into the vjo boards atm so i thought this would be an appropriate place to post.

my question is this:
is it possible to fade between compositions and then back. to clarify, you have comp A and comp B in your playlist. now as the dj begins mixing from one track to another, you want to "follow" this and mix in the video slowly.

so, if it were just a simple blend opacity change.

A @ 100% B @ 0%
then
A @80ish% B @ 20ish%
then
A @90ish% B @ 10%ish
then
A at 60%ish B @ 40ish%
then
A @ 80ish% B @ 20ish%
then
A @ 40ish@ B @ 60%ish

etc etc until A is slowly faded back and forth into B
---------------------------------------------------
so, i tried using events for this. i set 4 keys to events.

1. jump foward 1 comp
2. jump back 1 comp
3. blend 0 ms time
4. blend 6000 ms time

this was the closest i could get to getting the effect desired, which wasnt really that close heh :(

i know this would be a simple thing to do using 2 video in's on a hardware mixer; however, any of you vJo users have an idea how this could be achieved inside the package?

also, it seems the slowest you can do a transition is 6000ms (6 secs). is there anyway to make it longer?

thanks for the help :)

i still can't seem to register there. i emailed chris (the site admin) about it and he found he couldn't register anyone either as there was some sort of techie issue.

i was told elbows is hosting the boards and somewhere in there the relay of communication broke down.

sooooo, if one of you could be so kind as to post the registration issue on the vJo boards, that might kickstart the problem-solving.

thank you much for the assist

I have now fixed the problem with new registrations on that forum. This was due to some kind of avatar related bg with phpBB, so I have had to disable avatars there.

Please try to register now and let me know that it works :)

Thanks, and sorry about that - it seems it went wrong in late June, but I dont know what triggered the problem!
