Hi,
The University of the West of England (Bristol) are putting on a symposium on 25th March at The Watershed in Bristol's Dockland area. The day time event is focused on the nature of interactive documentary and will involve presentations from academics and documentary filmmakers.
In the night time event I have been asked to do a performance of "live documentary", therefore myself and Geoffrey Cox from the University of Huddersfield will be doing a mash up of a Jean Vigo film A Propos De Nice which will then move into our own "City Symphony" of Nice that we shot in 2009, we then move into our Toxteth City Symphony, that we are currently shooting in Liverpool. If you are unaware of the City Symphony genre of documentary making then follow this link for a brief intro:

The night will eventually end up with a more conventional DJ night, with visuals.
I will be playing mainly reggae, with the odd bit of funk....here's a link to a recent reggae mix, just to get the picture:

We are looking for Bristol based artists to produce a city symphony of Bristol and either VJ it themselves or pass the footage to me and I will use it in my mix. At the moment there is no money, however if we sell enough tickets then expenses will be covered. The crowd will be mainly academic/industry based professionals, but we are also looking to get some of the "media crowd" that apparently frequent the Watershed
More info can be found by visiting:

We will be looking to repeat the event in Liverpool and will be looking for artists elsewhere, who are interested in the live performance of documentary/VJ culture and the links that can be made by the two. So if you are interested in what we do, drop me a line.
I will be using Korg Kaptivator and Entrancer and Jitter software going through a V4. Sound will be sequenced via MAX MSP.
Giz a shout if you are interested.
Peace
Keith
