Hi, a client asked me to do 3D proyections for a party, I know Premiere has a plug-ins to transform video to 3D, I haven't try it yet.

Do you know about any plug-in or software that can transform basic 2D video in to 3D? I'm in a Mac platform.

I'm going to play with Premiere later but just in case I need your experience.

Thanx people.

What kind of 3d do you need?
If you mean red-blue glasses than go for Cult Effects (an after effects plugin).
To get real 3d video (red-blue) you need to shoot with two cameras simultaneuslly which can be tricky

Has anyone tried doing this?

Is it effective?

I've got a plug-in that does oscilliscope-wave line art with 3D effects and fades, and it does 3D... it offsets the "major lines" according to color (blue goes left a touch, red shifts right) and when you put on cheap glasses, it jumps out a bit. It's allright, but nothing amazing.

visualJockey R3 has a FREE plugin called anaglyph that will allow you to use Red-Blue glasses to give a third dimension to your visuals. The Anaglyph plugin comes with the NashArts plugin package (along some other nice free effects) and with it you'll be able to define Z-positioning of any element in your composition, be it still pictures, videos, procedural stuff : anything will work, in real-time and with as much control as you need.
