Sampology is looking for a VJ assistant in Berlin. He is based there for the next few weeks and has some AV shows. He played recently at Big Chill festival in UK. See outline below.
Looking for a VJ assistant who knows Modul 8 very well - for an Australian AV act who is playing a couple of shows in Berlin. This is a paid job.
EMAIL Interest/Experience: strictly.lowdown@gmail.com
The bulk of the set comes from Sam's Serato Video setup, manipulting AV files with two turntables.
It would be your job to mix sam's video output with:
two lipstick cameras (which you need to provide) / visual clips (provided) which will come from your laptop.
Sam also sends you audio input - he then triggers text & animations [which is on your laptop] from his MPC drum machine.
The objectives of the cameras are to show the audience what Sam is doing at certain points (scratching/triggering mpc).
85% of the 75 minute show comes direct from Sam. You switch all these sources on a V4. At certain points Sam would like you to luma key some of his sources over the top of live camera.
We have all the files online - you can download them, and Sam is available in Berlin to meet up. The payment is negotiated with Sam.
Tech notes:
required - lipstick cams or other suitable cameras
- macbookpro with modul8 (working midi and sound activation)
- composite out
- working audio line in
- BNC and cabling to suit cams/your laptop
- reliable, experienced, responsible
- Edirol V4 or suitable mixer
Provided by Sam
- Modul8 files + content for the set
- in depth set list
- rehearsal
It's a very original, funny show. Sam creates most his own material which is essentially recontextualizing TV, movies and internet.
He creates beats and edits video, and has mad skillz on turntables! Many AV acts such as DJ Yoda and Hextatic have been playing his creations within their set.
