Help me, oh knowledgeable motion dive gurus,
I'm having a problem installing my version of MD3. Here is some tech talk to help you understand the problem:
The software seemed to download properly off the audiovisualizers.com website. I downloaded the .sit file onto an external firewire hard drive connected to my G3 400Mzh powerbook (it is running OS9.1). Double clicking on the .sit file creates the installer file (also on the external drive) and double clicking on the installer file installs the software onto the hard drive of the powerbook. Everything seems to install corectly. However, when I open it for the first time and try to input the serial number, I can't get any further than the dialog box for inputing the user name, company name and *key code number (this is the serial number, yes?). All the text fields are live and I can input the information, but after that none of the buttons work. There is an 'ok / cancel' button which does nothing when clicked on. I can only return to my desktop by force quitting out of Motion Dive.
I have tried turning off all extensions except for the absolute minimum set that need to run the software. I have tried trashing the preferences file. I have reinstalled and trashed the application numerous times. Oh did I mention that the mac is running a chinese operating system and I can't understand the characters? yes, it's true. I don't know what to do next.
To add to my fustrations, the broadband connection that I am using turns out to be not so broad, so it took about 12 hours to download the 500MB initial .sit file. Do you think there is a problem with this installer file?
Any help you can give would be very much appreciated. any words of sympathy are also welcome. I've been trying to get this thing to work for a week.
