Hi all

Me again with another shoutout for freelancers to add to our pool.
Please note that we are after experienced and skilled engineers/techs/operators with experience in the Corporate world rather than bedroom VJs, white glove VJs or someone with a copy of Modul8 and a MBP.

Due to an expanding AV department and increasingly busy calendar, we're looking to build on our current roster of quality freelancers again:

We're looking for experienced and skilled freelancers in AV, Video and Gfx to install and operate a wide range of equipment including Extron/Barco/Panasonic Switchers, Displays, Projectors etc at a range of our high profile, high quality corporate events. We're also interested in camera operators, projectionists, powerpoint speciliasts and vision mixers with experience in the corporate events realm.

If interested, please e-mail your CV to: audiovisual@eventconcept.co.uk

Cheers

I believe its a reference to the officer class.
those who wear white gloves do no manual work.

A "white glove VJ" would be someone who doesn't help with rigging / setting up projectors, running cables and other aspects of gigs. They would probably call themselves a "plug and play VJ" or something, and would expect to turn up with their mac and plug it into a supplied and setup projection system complete with minidispayport adaptors.

If they were any good they would be working as a graphic designer or video effects artist, but they actually don't generally make very good content so they resort to VJing to infect the world with their low quality images. They presume that anyone who pushes a flight case or knows the barco menu system is incapable of producing any decent content whist ignoring the fact that they themselves not only can't make a decent clip, they also won't be any help with any other aspect of the gig.

they probably also have an asymmetrical haircut which they paid a lot of money for.

Hi all

Many thanks for the replies and CVs so far - our ops department will be in touch.

White glove VJs are exactly as Tom states - plug n play VJs. Not a problem with them myself but no good to anyone on a 60 minute install of multiple projectors, switchers and plasmas.

We need experienced engineers who know the kit and can deal with clients.

Keep the CVs comming

Cheers

There is an irony that for this position it is for a tech rather than a content creator...........
