I don't know if this is people's "cup of tea" round here, but I've released a realtime render engine I'm working on:

It's got audio analysis built in, along with more game style additions, physics and artificial life tools.
I suppose the idea is that you could write scripts live (they tend to be quite short and simple) and the renderer keeps going the whole time you are scripting, so people can see things building up.
We are also working on a second layer to build 2D compositing on top, but that is likely to be a different interface (running on another machine in a live situation).
Just thought you might like to see some development that's going on,
