We are vjs from North America and coming in Europe for the summer. Every promoters keep asking us how much do we charge...Can someone can give me help about the prices for a gig in a big techno club between 1000-2000 people? And also, if your are international, do you think they would supply the hotel on top of that?
Thanks
Valerie

I don't know what you're worth. Ask what you can get away with. Better to start high and barter than to say "200 euro" followed by an "OK!" 23 milliseconds later.
If you are flying over especially for the event, yes let them book you a hotel.

charge for hotel and flight and expenses if you can
you must get exposure via the posters, web and publicity - thats a standard
then do the gig for a pack of peanuts and a carton of organic orange juice (joking!)
techno - 1000-2000 punters at say ?7-10 minimum a throw - minus the usual set-up costs...doesnt leave your promoter with too big a budget after the djs, lighting etc for vjs
weigh up how much work you have to do, how much screen space.
are you vjing more than 4 hours? over which djs? headliners? etc etc
how many are they in your crew?
what kit have you got to set-up tech wise? (ie. how much hassle for teh promoter?)
what have you agreed with regards what you are showing?
corporate and/or sponsorship logos?
is it a certified gig or an underground event?
are you definitely playing it? (in which case you should have already discussed budget!!) no one gets booked without price mentioned
start at ?500+/gig (750 euros) minimum and hold onto it if you can
please rsvp when you have made the agreement just for interest and feedback
good luck
(please note the above is based on my own experience and does not neccesarily constitute the ideals and wishes of the other pro vjs on this forum)

Thanks for your answers, and to answer back to your question..:
in US or Canada, it's about 500$ US for a big AfterHour.
And we flight here on our own. They don't have to pay for that!..
Cheers,
Valerie
