Luckily we received quite some replies from people who preferred to approach our request more positively by coming up with creative new ideas and solutions for the set up - thanks for the replies guys!

Person would need to be used to work with a Mac and especially with Resolume.
Equipment and visuals will be supplied, but you will be performing on stage together with the artist.
A bit like asking a classical pianist to play the harmonica.....not that the harmonica is easy to play mind:) You may as well consider programing your visuals or do you get lonely on stage:)......sorry couldn't resist that one;)

I pretty much assume this has been by mistake posted in the low/no paid section...

Indeed. How does knowing music production software come into it? Probably will be required to sort the bands Macs when problems arise.

Come on Col..were not giving the poster/author a hard time here...merely having a bit of a giggle. I'm sure even orchiddrop can see the funny side of his post. He sounds just like someone who needs a friend on stage.
There would be ways in making this job even tempting for the likes of you and I if more details were given and advertisers stopped the need to feel their post should be shrouded in mystery......
DJ/Band Named looking for a VJ/technician to assist with on stage performances. All equipment and material will be supplied. You will have all travel, lodgings and meals paid allong with necessary expenses. Although at the moment the actual VJ'ing?technical working hours are unpaid you will however be gaining the experience and air miles:) VJ should be competent with X,Y and Z.......etc etc.
Will the VJ be publicised for instance?

tbh i only wanted to quote the OP with my small modification to reflect the fact of the job but i had to post at least 10 characters, really not arsed nor grumpy about anything, moan away i like it.
Does sound like a good opportunity for some gig experience for a newbie though, wonder if they are expected to rig the supplied gear?

TBH its sounds like a roadie job to me, and usually if your not paying someone you take your mates to roadie, taking someone you don't know, you should pay them, if your need a roadie it should be reflected in your fee.
If its not your kit and not your footage why get credit?
I wonder if expenses covers loss of other work while away...
Even roadies usually get some cash, even if its just minimum wage (under which it is illegal to engage some btw)

And what do we mean by grumpy. Is it grumpy versus "that's a cool SHIT, shit! Man!".
I have done and still do free stuff if I gain some emotional benefit. Usually for musicians who like to present their talent differently.
