hey this was popping up lately on another thread but the thread being so "hot" i thought it could be cool to restart this: so

cuircuitviii and i were wondering if there are any other family here in vjc?? anyone? could be really cool to do something at a gathering!!

What is this 'solar power'? You use that thing called 'electrickcity'?? We can make a screen and do shadow theatre in the dawn light, maybe, like in Bali??? A sister I'm kinda seeing is into that...now THAT's VJing for Rainbows!!
We can put a sponsors logo in there too...'By appointment to HRH Goddess!!!'
yes circuit at the national gatherings (20,000+ people) there is a little electricity (not much at all, in fact some of the elders think its wrong) i think it started in bus village where the live-fooders where using elctricity for their blenders (come on a month in the woods with 20,000 people and no smoothies??) and those granold funk theatre people and Jah Levi do concerts in the woods, mostly unplugged but only mostly. I do believe that 4 solar panels would do fine... and in a national theres so much space that it wont bother anyone who isn't into it.... hmmmm mif we start planning now......

when are the big gatherings in Europe?

seed camp started this past weekend, so we may be a little late on the getgo to do vjvillage but Pixy, we gotta stay on top of this an do it for next year (or if there's a euro equivalent to a national... or Belize!!!) if tehre's one non-comercial space that is open to hightened awarenesses, thats gotta be it!

if yore into it, lets get going !!!!! (youre lucky, what is teh driveform colorado to utah? a day and 1/2??)

Here in Europe there is a strong consensus that we do not have electricity from generators or panels, maybe its OK in the car park to charge your battery or something!! Torches OK - otherwise you'd wipe out on the paths at night, I used a shaver too...! It's also a vegetarian site (I'm not, personally). I respect the consensus in the NA Family - a gathering of 20000 means that there is more space for different energies, in Italy last year we were about 3000 at one time.
I'll be in the States next month, but in San Francisco, so I think it would be a little difficult for me to get to Utah. European Family gathering is in France, 18th July start for the lunar month, I'll be there when I get back from the States.

Electric generators, chain saws, and gasoline powered tools are not. Bicycles and horses may enter a Gathering. Motorcycles and automobiles (other than emergency and supply) may not.

but i do understand why in general it is not the way to go.... if ur into consciousness imagery, sacred geomety, technoized nature, innercosmos stuff.... i think it would be appreciated. besides, i can only imagine the possibilities.... vj/drum jam? european size sounds more like a regional over here (1-5000 peeps), its a bit harder to imagine this working without the numbers to allow for diversity in the forest... it would be a little overpowering there.
(here there's even a free pizza parlour... cafes.. the works (mostly just fire, no panels)

HOW far is it from SF to Rainbow? I suspect there might be a chance of a lift from ASSACon...kinda want to see a bit of the States - haven't been before, when I went to Italian Rainbow I felt more like I'd just been to India - didn't eat pizza until the night I left lol

I went to a national couple few year's ago and had a wonderful time!! where will you and circuitviii be camping at if my cru can make it out..

I wish I would have been more on top of this gathering, as We have just been thru 2 events in the last month, and resourses are a bit thin, but where there is a will there is a way!!

I'll let you know for sure what space dub's plan is in the next few days..

it's about 800 miles (12 hours in a car?) from san fransico....
(about the same for you pix, huh?)

the closest town is actually evanston wyoming... just on the border.

i would be coming in from montreal (i am going to have to hit up my air canada friend right now) to salt lake... if i can do it i may ask one of you to make a small detour? ? ?

LC, we would prolly be coming the other way thru wyoming, but if you need a ride from SL, I might be able to get down from the gathering..
(that is if I can talk my mates into the trip out..)
