3G Video ringtones

Just wondering if 3G could incorporate video ringtones - so when someone calls it plays a short loop on the screen as well as ringing..

the nokia camera phones let you have a photo pop up when somone calls - dare say the 3g ones will do video like this too

Wouldnt have to be 3G either. I just got the Orange SPV phone thats got M$ Smartphone 2002 operating system. Theres no support for video calls etc like you get with 3G, but the device can play video clips that you upload to it & play using pocket media player. There is a SDK available so theoretically someone just needs to write software to do it.

Are there any phones out that will use MP3s as the ringtone yet? This phone I got will play MP3s but not as ringtones. Luckily it will play .wav files as ringtones so I just have to convert the files, but wavs obviously eat its memory quite a lot.

Yeah I got a Sony Ericsson p800 a few weeks back, pretty sweet, specially some of the mad games you can get for Symbian OS, certainly shits on snake :p

I will play video and does the full camera thing so technically you could stream the video from the camera with the right software but there is no current way to get the video out :( oh well maybe they'll being out an video out attachment.

yeah you can get a VNC type app that lets you control you PC over the net with the mobile web, how ever personally I think it would be cooler to have a it remote control the PC over bluetooth (then you don't need the PC on the net), change your MP3s from the couch or better yet control your VJ app from the dancefloor :D ok so who wants to code this baby... BTW sybian is full JAVA :)

3G have already got dfuse and other vjs to create a/v ringtones

the future is bright teh future is........vjing(well we can hope) over/through/with/ mobiles and pda's via wireless

video streaming is already possible and several crews have experimented with this in london at artshows - slowly slowly - though its well expensive streaming via teh mobile and still cant beat a live situation - just makes it more diverse

I've been thinking about this 3g stuff as well... the possibility of downloading your favourite tune as audio visual rather than just audio sounds verry nice...looks like lots of work for vj's in the future...
