Need communist inspired material (pics and video)

Hey all

July 26th (at the day of Oslo Summer Parade), there will be a rave at Rockefeller in Oslo. (http://www.pravdaparty.com)

The theme of the evening is communist-inspired.

So... I need videos, gif anims, pictures, the whole lot... anything which resembles old CCCP or Russia, and the communism.

I've already located a lot of interesting stuff, but I need more :)

Anyone got any links or websites?

A few of the prelinger archive films are American anti-communist progpaganda so there may be something suitable there, and the stuff can be used however you like and is available in various different formats.

Wow, that is such a great theme for a party - I wish I would have the opportunity to mix there.

Don't forget to get some inspiration from russian art, and russian futurist stuff and take a look at all the communist websites on the web.

Yeah I did a great party that had the same theme for DJ vadim's last tour (russian percussion) I used a it of stuff from prelinger, also I did a google image search and dug up LOADS of great old russian propaganda posters that not only was I able to take into premiere and make loads of clips from but also inspired me with ideas for other stuff I could shoot or model in 3d myself. Wish I had have more time to prep only landed the gig a week prior. Anyways thats my recommendation, I'm sure you'll do well :)

you might also want to look at Eisenstein's films (spelling?).. particularly October, but also Battleship Potemkin, as these kind of document the october revolution and the rebellion in the navy (fictional films, but obviously based on life).. one of the greatest film makers ever, and worked with the communist regime.. mostly made in 1920s and 30s, b/w stuff.. well worth a look I would think.

you could maybe also borrow a copy of Lenin's writings or Marx's stuff and find some nice quotes to use as text if you are that way inclined.. or look on a quotations website to find some
(Lenins main piece of writing is, I think, called 'What is to be done?')

Sergei Eisensten did a bunch of other films not just about the revolution, but about industry, agriculture, and the leaders of the party. I think you'll probably find most can be found online.

Also look for Dziga Vertov.
