What is AVIT

Hi there im doing an dissertation on video djing culture and i wonderd if someone could tell me about AVIT what is it and what it stands for .

rather than spell it out, you can get an idea what AVit is from watching these interviews..This was more a mini AVit, and of course didn't cover near as much as the regular AVit events did, but you'll get the idea what AVit is from watching..

Also the broader term for AVIT throughout the AV industry is that it stands for Audio Visual Information Tech, there is also a big AV industry show called AVIT, but in regards to VJing it was essentially a VJ conference, with talks, performances, workshops etc

Not sure if its still going, I had a feeling it used to be organised by MCSi, but they nearly folded a few years ago so either it hasn't run for a few years, allowing infocomm and cebit to take over (I'm not even sure if infocomm isn't actually AVIT but was renamed infocomm AVIT, it was the show for AVIT integration anyhow)

It's a shame that the will to do AVit like events has gone away(being the only VJ event that was a direct out pouring from forum mems).
Maybe it's time to start back up...(with another name of course)

Incredible interviews, really got alot from them. So good to hear people talking about stuff that I guess we're all trying to do, but perhaps have not voacalised (for me at least!!), especially Doug from SpaceDub Vibrations... Really interesting stuff, well worth the watch. Many thanks!! :yep:

Yea, it was Doug's idea to get interviews and it's good we did:)
