Hi there..!

Is there a possibility to get a own board / section..?

I really like VJ Forums. Lots of interesting stuff, nice folks and no advertising.

At http://pub44.ezboard.com/bbauhouse I do have a own forum, but visitors virtually got shot by ads and popups.

So I wondered:

Wouldn't it be nice if you would host a new board section.
A own section for each VJs / Artists / Group.

For Example a Section for ColdCut, dFuse, and so on.

Bauhouse ( http://www.bauhouse.de )would love to join this section.

;)

Hmm no I don't plan to offer such a feature at VJForums, mostly because I think it would be a bad idea to have hundreds of forums when there is so few VJs. On the other hand, I'm looking to offer more personal features at VJCentral, I don't know what yet though...

Yeah I agree with X its not really necessary.... also I think its a little arrogant to believe that any act (even huge crews like CC, Lightsurgeons and TOmato) deserve a whole forum dedicated to themselves and I don't think that fits with the equality nature we have fostered here @ VJC

hi

i noticed also that it gave much board in that people wrote over this big artists and also the websites of them have also own board?s i think and if not, they got to have on.
maybe we could exchange some visitors of these orums to enlarge the community here with pro_vj?s like them are.

Yeah link swapping with personal boards/sites is a good idea, that is sort of catered for over on VJC though :)

Personally I have links to VJ off my personal site (a couple of times) and there will be links off the new CVI site too.

Well said MoRpH, glad to see others have the same vision :) By the way, speaking of link swapping, I installed a stats software (webalizer) a few times ago and you can see VJC stats here:

http://www.vjcentral.com/stats

Click on the "June 2002" link and go at the bottom of the page to see the top 30 referers. This apply to all sites on my server, so those hosted by me have a similar page at /stats...

Excellent resource X, good to see many others out there using google to get to us :)

Although I find it a little discouraging that some ppl are search for a moonster crack :(

i think many people who now registered only reading in the forum :)
and maybe the rules must be posted more :( to get this crack requests away, but that is normal i think when so much people registered ?

hahaha yeah vjcentral is the #2 site for "moonster crack" on google :p in fact it's very well positionned for many VJ-related keywords... i think the fact i use search engines friendly URLs (/article/show/518 instead of /article/show.php?id=518) helps a lot.

there's indeed hundreds of unactive members...

ah i just installed another tracker, this time external. it provides less statistics but in a more clear manner IMO, and you can see all referrers, not just the last 30 ones. it can be accessed here (http://extremetracking.com/open;sum?login=vjc3000) or by clicking on the dot in the "All content (c) its respective owner." sentence at the bottom of all pages :D (yep it's here!) not many stats yet since it's all new.

(BTW the extremetracking stats don't seem to work, I'll have to check the code is correct)

Are also wrong unless it's just counting the index page. Consider chat... each reload would be a hit... so there's no way you'd only deal with 10,000 hits in a given month.

Webalizer analyze the Apache log, I don't know how it could possibly be wrong. And actually you didn't read the webalizer data correctly (and I can understand this because they are quite confusing :p)... for May there is an AVERAGE of 12'000 hits per DAY, and a total of 347'749 hits. I think those numbers make sense for the chat room.

(Remember people these are hits, not unique visitors, VJCentral isn't that popular... yet! ;))

Ah. I use either HTTP ANALYZE 2.2 (a good one) or ANALOG (another good one)... never really liked Webalizer.
