I'm not sure if I asked this before but I'm desperate, so I'll ask it again. Does anyone know of/where I can get this video of this japanese guy slowly screaming? it starts off with his eyes slowly rolling back into his head and following that he starts to scream.

If you know of it that would be a great help.

Do you mean the bit from 'Legend of the Overfiend'? I'm only assuming this because of your manga related username. Use the link below and follow the list down. There's a downloadable clip in that section where the character screams/mutates/wigs out.

Hmmm, that didn't work. Just go to www.badmovies.org and hit the reviews section.

Yes...that particular video clip comes from "Baraka, a world beyond worlds"... from MPI home video
:)

thanks for your help. It's most likely from Baraka as the one I've seen was not manga, but I haven't seen Baraka to my knowledge so I'll have to look for it.

Cheers.

Ooh - you'll want to correct that - Baraka would almoust be considered required viewing (as well as Liquid Crystal Vision (http://www.liquidcrystalvision.com/)). Many stunning sequences in that film.

Also, have a look out for Chronos (http://www.spiritofbaraka.com/chronos.php) - an IMAX film apparently avaliable on VHS at least. Hmm - several other interesting films mentioned on that site. Baraka even has a node on Dromo (http://www.dromo.com/fusionanomaly/baraka.html).

Cheers!

Hey all, no real reason to posting this but I just thought I'd tell you that I bought Baraka on DVD and was not dissapointed. I haven't even seen it all yet but there are already two or three sequences within it that will come in handy.

Apart from ripping movies for content _embarressed look_ it's great for inspiration. I know most of you have probably seen it and are bored to tears with it but I think it's great for new VJ's and others alike :D

OH GAWD.... PLZ i have said it b4...... PLZ only use baraka for inspiration, yes the sequences in it are great and beautiful but seriosly most punters have seen them DONE TO DEATH by newbie VJs... if you want to have any sort of cred amongst you peers (and punters), this is not the way to do it......be different, try maybe taking a sequence concept and reshoot it in your local surroundings or something.....

well, I don't have a DVcam so I don't yet have the capabilities to shoot similar stuff to what I see on screens. I do have heaps of ideas for stuff to shoot but I just don't have the resources yet.

Well try borrowing one or find something similar in another less common movie..... Newbie video ppl have tourtured punters with unlimited baraka re-runs for long enough....

P.F.B.F.V - ppl for baraka free visuals :p

I understand what you're saying, but I think that if something fits into your set/style and is going to work well, you should be allowed to use it. I know ppl always use Baraka stuff and fair enough, even I've grown tired of some of it in the clubs; but some of it, to me, is just priceless and could still be used if in the proper ways.

I'm not trying to argue with anyone here, I'm just saying that until I see something similar of a less well-known nature, I'm just going to have to use what I can.

But trust me, when I get a DVcam I'll be shooting most, if not all of my footage.

Good stuff and I guess its fine if used in moderation... but if I was you I would do some serious video store trawling as there are loads of great docos out there with some AMAZING footage :)

its not what youve got it's what you do with it..
yeah we used baraka when we started
but hardly ever do now
but thats not to say that i wouldn't still be impressed if i saw someone do a really nice remix of a baraka sequence
there is something to be said for a the appeal of something familiar being presented in a new way

True red, thats why I was suggesting doing something different with it if you use any concept or anything from it @ all. The main point being most ppl that use it don't "remix or present it in a new way"

I just watched Baraka, beautiful movie although the first 15 minutes were awefully long. It seemed at this moment I was just looking at a serie of pictures with the music repeating over and over, really wondering why the heck they made a movie out of it.

Luckily, it got better after this :) Lots of beautiful scenes, even the moment when they film japanese people in the street in fast-forward (a true clich?) looked great. The chicken factory part was sad though :(
