View Full Version : thumbnails of videoclips

I'm looking for a little software, where I can preview Video-clips in different formats (swf, fla, avi, mpg, mov). I'm looking for an application, where I can see little thumbnails, and when clicking the thumb it should be possible to watch a preview of the clip. I would need this software to search through my Videoclip library and to find the right clips.
Thanks for your help!

I know there's a swiss company currently working on such a media manager software. the company's called antZero and the software AtomicView. point your browser to http://www.antzero.com/antweb/?m=0&p=0 to get more info. I think at the moment only the Mac version is operational.

As said, Adobe bridge will handle most of this and is very helpful for previewing and organizing. To some extent the mac os & quicktime will also do this but only with limited files. If you're on a mac you can set the viewing preferences to show "icon preview" which will give you a thumbnail of the video.

Adobe Bridge is probably what most people use but if you want just thumbnails Picasa does good job, I am not sure if it will play but for locating clips it works even better then Bridge, the thumbnails are big and make it easy to recognise the clips.

iview has been working for me very well.
just checked Atomic. Looks pretty much alike iview plus has always player present.
You must note that iview is not purchasable any more after MS is selling it (and more) for 10x the original price. I got mine from ebay for under 50€. Atomic has reasonable pricetag 95€. I like it.
