Hey all, first post. I looked in the FAQ's and did a search, but couldn't find my answer.

I'm a musician that wants to fool around with images synced to my music to put on a VCD or DVD. I have Vegas Video 3, so I can arrange all the clips later, but do all these VJ software programs render to an avi file (or similar)? As I visit these websites, all anyone talks about is live performance, which I'll probably never do.

If they do, can they render to semi-professional resolutions (which ones)?

So far, the only one I see that can render to an .avi is VisualJocky R3.

resolume now renders to AVI too. my PC will do 640x480 25fps very successfully, but it is uncompressed as resolume has no time left to compress the video stream, so you better have plenty of hard disk space! - also bear in mind that windows struggles to play uncompressed movies of this resolution due to memory/disk bandwidth, so your stored movies will be unlikely to play smoothly until you've imported and rendered them into your editing app (premier/Vegas)
