Hi everyone, this is my first post (sorry if 1000 people have been asking the same before).
I'd like to compose more videos in one (not sure: in english you call it "compositing"?) - i.e. 4 images 320x240 in a frame 640x480.
Which softwares allow to do that?
Maybe Adobe AE? Maybe -better- something cheaper or free/shareware?
And which formats can I use for this work (AVI, QT, MPEG etc.) ?

Thx a lot

I'm pretty sure this can be done with Adobe After Effects. On the other hand, I don't think Virtualdub supports this. As for the format, it's not really important - you are just exporting the final result - but AVI (windows) or QT (macs) is better than MPEG for VJing. You just have to find the right codec then, personnaly I use Cinepak or PicVideo MJPEG.

Hope this helps :)

Premiere and Ulead video studio do this, you just need to set it up correctly, I use the motion filter in premiere, but with no movement set up, and just use the loom feature.:p
