…So I've been browsing the forum for nearly 2 years now and only now have I decided to pull my finger out and start working on something cool! (and I do solemnly swear to start contributing something back to the forum!)... So I recon the best way to do this is to work with some more likeminded folk for a bit of inspiration!

I’ve recently changed jobs, (in live event AV) which has created a few more hours a week for me to remember why I got into the industry in the first place!! (i.e. not just corporate AV and award shows!)

The type of ‘ting I'd like to do is nothing new in the realm of 'pushing the boundaries’; just something of quality that is technically and creatively challenging …whilst having a laugh! ...By that I mean moving away from on the fly visuals projected on to a 4x3 screen (nothing wrong with that though!!), to creating more of a custom multi-projector video/light show that uses simple but crisp/powerful images to interact with the lighting and the riddum of some bad-ass beats! (Maybe working with a particular DJ or band?..I do have some parties/festivals in mind) As I said…I know this is nothing new, but to see a show with all of those elements working well together is an awesome experience…and with a bit of creativity and know how, big-budget-big-impact-look shows can be achieved with not a lorrar dorrar. I’m not doing this to make my millions (at first anyway!)…’It’s just about the enjoyment….man!’

So if you’ve got a bit of creative flair, knows your way ‘round a pixel and recon that this sounds like your cuppa char, let me know and we’ll hook up for few beers and see what can be done!

...location wise, I'm based in London but also very familiar with the scene in Leeds..so if you're anywhere near either, get in touch!

You have the multi projectors JONNO? Otherwise think again for Leeds, promoters just wont/cant come up with the cash....unless you're very lucky, have the gift of the gab or are an accomplished con man :D There's a few good venues in Leeds for larger projects but as I say unless you're willing to loose money by paying to do these events yourself I'd think again.....you may loose millions certainly not make them.

Hey Jonno,
What sort of music are you into? I've been working on the multi screen av idea here in leeds. Think I need a hardware upgrade tho! The Av scene in leeds is young and budding still as steve said..

I've found it easier and more rewarding promoting events from scratch like a show. doing all the leggwork, promotional material, and paying all the artists is a good way to make sure that your night is good! Take a look at the general section on my site for the photos of Grassroots. Have a look at this video of our last av performance.

shame..
I thought it was going to be a VJ personals thread...

Noted Chicago blues singer with fondness for crouching in wooden wash tubs full of spinach egg noodles seeks permanent relationship with purple nippled lady horse trainer. No phonies need apply.

Lady ad executive, 31, stacked, seeks long haired depravos who share secret passion for carbon auto ring smudge. Discretion assured, references. No exhaust queens, please.

Stare service. I will tie you up and stare at you for hours on end. Sound like fun? Give me a ring. No violence. See photo.

Wealthy lady, prone to grope-fits, with firm belief in werewolves, desires oversexed teenage archeologists for pilot project in spirit photography at subterranean Mongolian retreat. Type A-negative only.

if anyone is wondering that's what touring does to you...

pay attention at school kids, then you can get a real job and not end up with a bizzarr interest in QVC, classified ads and personal columns of dubious local papers.

(does anyone know anybody who has actually brought stuff from QVC who isn't a touring band member / roadie - afaik the whole channel exists solely on the purchases of people who've spent too much time on tour buses)

I think my aunt once bought some kind of foot spa I seem to remember. She's not a roady.
