Just went and saw Kruder and Dorfmeister last night. WOW

There VJ blew my mind with a beautifully constructed 15m screen the used at least 7 beamers to create some wild effects.

Res was right up there and crystal clear and he had some really cool loops.

The screen was generated by four projectors from behind and they were configured so some of them were flipped on the horizontal so you ended up with a cool kaliedescope effect. Another three beamers overlayed on the same screen made for a really cool visual feast.

The music? Yeah it totally rocked too. They started off on the classic K&D tip then moved into a big big house set covering everything from epic to deep to vocal to tribal and some d&b thrown in for good measure too.

Amazing stuff

Inspired? Yeah I think so

:D

well i hate to post this but i saw this guy recently and i must say i was sorely dissapointed.

from what i could see he was running 2 laptops each running a copy of resulme, the show i saw ( in perth Aus.) had 4 beamers projecting images onto a curved screen behind K&D.
i only saw about an hour of their show but i found the graphics were slow, boring and unoriginal.

I recognized several video loops from my own archive, (ie clips i have got from the net and loop servers etc.)

the images were all very random and did not seem to provide coherent links to the audio provided. Given that this guy is their personal VJ and i expect him to be pretty familiar with the audio set and have some customised loops prepared - i'm sure he did, but it wasn't enough i thought.

Also i think the he really limited himself by only using resulme- from what i could see that was pretty much all he used...

i think it's a real pity that this guy gets to fly round the world, and so many other vj's do exactly the same thing and can barely even get a weekly gig.

I think it's another sore point about promoters here, i have never been given that many beamers to use even when i did green velvet or DJ sasha shows, but i guess thats what the vj specified....

oh well i saw anthony rother play a mind blowing live electro set that day - guess it will have to be enough
