what are the rules for using hardware and software companies logos on your website and/or at the end of live performances?
is it a simple case of emailing them to ask permission to use their logo or can you just use them without having to ask?

"Free stuff" :D Or for:
Reciprocated advertising and publicity.
Support received (this could mean discounted goods or free stuff;))
Business agreement ie loan equipment or short term equipment replacements.
Equipment servicing assistance.
Equipment tester? (Loan)
Regular good clients.
Using certain company logos may result in them contacting you to ask for their removal. Most large companies will seek to aprove all use of logos once agreed. This can slow some work down when it comes to printing jobs, publication on the internet etc. Just something else to be aware of.

Unless a liquor company is paying me thousands per night, the only logos I display are the club's logo and my own.
