I have so many questions I don't really know where to begin...... I have the crazy visions in my head that I wish I could just transpose onto the screen, via Magic... but since I'm not a magician, perhaps I should just get down to it and figure out what sort of technology I need to start moving forward... right now I have a PC with a CD burner and a DVD drive, an awesome DVD camcorder, and a dinosaur monitor... should I bag the PC and get a portable laptop Mac, or can I work with what I've got and have the freedom and creative possibilities I need...

You've got everything you need already...dont get into a mac pc argument just yet. Either will be good enough for what your doing.

You might want to buy a switch (about 40 quid) to flick between rgb(computer) input or video input etc.

What software do you use. I take it you've got video editing software....if not keep your pc and use premier, or final cut pro 3 if you switch to mac. As for video mixing software the choice is endless. Download a few trials and see what system suits your style of working best.
