New to the game

Hi all!

I want to start vj-ing, but I don't know where to start...
I have a iMac DV Special Edition, do you think this is the right machine to vj with? Or should I use a laptop or PC?

Do you have some tips for me, so I can get started?

If you have a way to output the video it should work if you have have enough RAM and if it's not a 1st generation imac (At least for starting Vjing).
Some people are going to say you need a realy power full machine but I think it should work for a while....
You should download some software in demo version and try them. If the movies doesn't slow down too much it should be fine.

And you don't necessarily need your Mac to perform. Another way to do it is to create your content "offline" @ home and simply make VHS tapes or VCDs to perform with.
If you have a DV camera of some sorts, you could start running around with it and taping anything that catches your eye. This will prove to be the most satisfying way to create original content. Especially if your mac is all set-up to deal w/ DV.
