View Full Version : Crew needed . . .

We need more crew . . .

Crap money, long hours, and probably exhaustion through in for
free.

Ideally we are looking for an all rounder, able to rig, mix, use a
camera and keep a computer running in the harshest environments. Strict experience isn`t what we're looking for, but
ability and keeping it together all night. It`s a solid interest and
desire to immerse yourself into this world we need. Being an establish VJ would probably go against you as we are hoping to bring you into nuroptics and look forward, as opposed to hired hands on the night. We`ll teach you all you need to know (well all we know anyway).

The Job:
Part-time.
90% of the work will be weekends, with some in the studio.
Long hours, first in a venue last out.
To understand which end of a camera you point.
The money isn`t great, but it beats a bar job.
Medium term we want to get you producing you own work.

The Person:
Have a technical mind, if all goes down in the middle of a set we
don`t want you to panic and take your hands off the steering wheel so to speak.
Creative.
Love of music, in my option visuals follow the music. So if you
don`t get into the music you're mixing by numbers.
Reliability is paramount, we can`t put a gig off until the next day.
Computer literate.
Live in London through the year.
A driving license would be nice.
Be chilled. And most of all ~ thrive in a live environment
.

nuroptics:
We produce and perform live visuals mainly in London. We put a
hell of an emphasis on the rig, as a set always looks better across
various mixers and multi- screen rigs. The core of our gigs are
either Hard House / Trance or Techno. We also do Fetish and
Industrial nights, plus whatever takes our fantasy. There are three
to nuroptics, one full time and two part-time. Check the nuroptics
website for more info.

To repeat this is not going to be a cushy job, it will be hard work, and
long hours. You will get paid but our interest in this world is when you
can take a step back at 3am and realise your part of something.

Drop us an email about yourself (we know this is harder than it
sounds). Please no phone calls.

Might be interested for doing a similar job in Belgium ... if anyone needs a hand[yman] ... wouldn't need to worry about employment costs etc. as I can invoice you for the work through my own little company ...

Well this is the vague idea, when I started I had to learn the hard way. In theory this would be the perfect way to enter this world, (and they would get paid as well!)
