sup.

created a music vid awhile back. took a bunch of hip hop instrumentals, mixed them together and took snippets from a 1978 movie called STYLE WARS (graffiti documentary in NYC)

went to a bunch of spots in my city where there was graff and got some video footage.

also mixed in some motion graphics where i created 3d digital graff, and mapped it onto real photos.

this was my first attempt at the whole VJ'ing and Motion Graphics thing.

hope you like. :) comments welcome, good or bad - anything to better myself in the art of VJ'ing.

The mapping stuff was pretty awesome - it was flowing - progressing - changing.

Thought the intro and the footage of graph walls was pretty ordinary. Its hard to bring still objects to life. Can I recommend some saturation adjustment :). And perhaps try and keep it more fluent - pausing too long in many places is slowing the track down. Try overlaying some zooms.

Keep it up with the mapping shit its fkn great.

yeah man, some excellent graffitti content, not the sort of thing you get round my way very often! great to have it documented; by using a tripod it'd probably make it smoother and more in keeping with the other style you employ with the cut out graffiti. where you placed it on top of the other video and the interaction with the person really brought it to life, it messed around with the perspectives more which is why i think those parts seemed most stimulating.
nice one!

p.s is that what you call mapping i've been thinking about that sort of technique latley can anyone point me in a good direction to learn that sort of thing? I presume after effects is the tool for the job?!
