maybe he's looking 4 a midi continous controller to midi note converter? would sure sound tres zappaesque, ne c'est pas? ;)

look:

the goal is to get midinotes (played life with my electronic drumset) into macromedia flash. the problem is that flash doesnt support any midiinterface. so i thought to translate the midinotes to ASCII-keyboard signals in realtime, witch can be understood in flash.

What you want is possible but I don't think such a thing exists yet. Trouble is that the ascii codes is only the half part of the problem, getting them sent to the correct application is the difficult part. You could do this with director and buddy api and a midi xtra /activex but it would be kind of bulky

have you thought of making a flash player in director?
director>flash communication is relatively easy and MIDI i/o solutions exist for Director.

...yes that would be the alternative. but the thing is that director plays flashfiles kind of unexactly and the connection between lingo and actionScript is too slow i think. i would prefere to keep director out...

Trust me... actionscript is too slow... I've written a couple of quick VJ apps in Flash before and Flash itself is written SO badly that I would never recommend it for realtime.

well, as always, some coders are better than others ;)
again, check out the far from being lame flashmixer from vlight.to be4 blaming the "oh so badly" written flash-app.....
